Warriors exercise Damian Jones’ fourth-year option

As expected, the Warriors have exercised the fourth-year contract option on center Damian Jones.

Jones, 23, has thrived as Golden State’s starting center as DeMarcus Cousins rehabs a torn left Achilles tendon he sustained in January with New Orleans. In eight games, Jones has averaged 6.0 points on 77.8 percent shooting, 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 16.9 minutes.

Though he still needs to cut down on his fouls and do a better job crashing the glass, Jones is beginning to capitalize on his immense potential after spending his first two professional seasons largely relegated to the G League.
