Klay Thompson suffers mild ankle sprain, but appears to be fine

0 5

The Warriors shooting guard got dinged up on Monday, but shouldn’t miss any time.

The Golden State Warriors have had their fair share of small injuries early this season. They’re only four games in, but both Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala have missed time, while Draymond Green has tried to get his conditioning back after missing much of the preseason with a knee injury.

And on Monday, they had a bit of a scare. In the second half of the Warriors’ 123-103 victory over the Phoenix Suns, four-time All-Star Klay Thompson exited the game after rolling his ankle.

The team officially diagnosed it as a mild left ankle sprain, and announced that he would not return to the game.

Understandably, that had a few fans worried. But after the game, coach Steve Kerr reassured everyone that Thompson was just fine, and could have gone back in the game if it were necessary.

Ankles are finicky, and occasionally swell up overnight after being injured, so we’ll have to see the report from practice before we know Thompson’s status going forward. But it certainly would seem like he won’t be missing any time.
