Cal alum Marcus Lee signs with Miami Heat

0

Former Cal forward Marcus Lee has signed a contract with the NBA’s Miami Heat.

Terms of the deal were not announced.

The 6-foot-11 Lee, a 5-star high school recruit out of Deer Valley-Antioch, went undrafted in June. He appeared in seven games with the Cavaliers’ summer league team (five of which he started) and averaged 6.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.57 blocks while shooting 70 percent (21 of 30).

Lee played his first three college seasons at Kentucky. His playing time there, however, was limited (3.9 points, 3.6 rebounds) and he transferred to Cal for his senior season. He made significant improvements in all aspects in Berkeley, averaging 11.4 points and 7.2 rebounds.
