Galena, Illinois – The Grand View University men's golf team ended their 2017-18 campaign with a 4th-place finish at the Heart Championship. The conference event took place at the Eagle Ridge Resort.

Mitch Pfingsten (SR/Fairmont, Minnesota) finished atop the leaderboard for the Vikings while shooting a 226 (74-77-75). This placed Pfingsten in a tie for 5th-place. Sachin Gupta (JR/Grimes, Iowa) was the biggest mover for Grand View in the final round. Gupta rose 11 spots to finish in a tie for 17th-place and was the second highest individual finisher for the Vikings.

Pfingsten and Braxton Risetter (SR/Jewell, Iowa) both received recognition on the All-Conference Team.

The Vikings rose one spot as a team in the final round and shot a 937 (309-317-311) overall.

William Penn finished atop the team leaderboard and Statesmen Zachary Chegwidden sat atop the individual leaderboard.

Although the men's team completed their 2017-18 season, Mitch Pfingsten qualified for the 2018 National Championship held at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. With his Top-15 individual finish for the Vikings 2017 National Championship team, Pfingsten earned an automatic qualifier berth. The tournament's first round begins on May 15th with a 156-player field.
