[Women's Basketball] Cold Shooting for RC Ends in OT with Loss 68-74
Rochester Hills, Mich.—The Lady Warriors welcomed in the Blue Devils of Lawrence Tech University this evening for the second matchup this season. In game one RC stole a win on the road with a final score of 68-59, but the Blue Devils had other plans for game two. Lawrence Tech took game two in an overtime match with a final of 68-74. Rochester College dropped to 11-10 overall and 6-7 in conference play.
The Lady Warriors took a ten-point lead into the locker room at the end of the first half, 31-21 before being out scored in the second half 39 to 29 sending the game to overtime. In the overtime period the Blue Devils put up 14 points to RC's 8 to take the victory, and improve their record to 18-4 overall and 8-3 in conference play.
Senior guard, Maddy Valko (Marysville, Mich./St. Clair County Community College) lead all scorers with 22 points, 7 of them coming from the charity stripe. Bethany McCord (Warren, Mich./Saginaw Valley State University) contributed to the Warriors offense with 18 points. Allyssa Copley (Holly, Mich./Cleveland State University) lead the Warriors in the rebounding category grabbing 8 rebounds to go with her 13 points.
Rochester shot 39% from the court to the Blue Devils 33%. RC was outshot by LTU at the free throw line 71% to 56%, and the three-point line 32% to 18%.
The Lady Warriors will be back in action as they look to get back to their winning ways next Wednesday, January 24th at 1pm as they host the Cardinals of Concordia University for a WHAC matchup.
