[Women's Basketball] Energized Bees use fast start to defeat Pride 73-60

St. Ambrose got exactly the start it needed to snap its recent four-game losing streak.

The Bees outscored Clarke 22-6 in the first quarter en route to a 73-60 victory at Lee Lohman Arena Saturday afternoon.

Along with the dominant first frame, SAU used a strong third quarter and a big rebounding advantage to move to 5-12 on the year.

The energized Bees put pressure on from the start, forcing seven turnovers and the Pride into 3-of-12 shooting in the opening stanza. Seven different Bees scored in the first quarter, with Hailey Cook's eight points leading the way.

St. Ambrose also set the tone early on the glass, outrebounding Clarke 14-6 over the first 10 minutes. Six of the team's 14 boards came on the offensive end, leading to 10 second-chance points.
