[Women's Basketball] ONU's Learned Leads Tigers To Upset, Earns Weekly Honor

CHICAGO --- Guiding her team to a pair of conference wins, including an upset of No. 7-ranked University of St. Francis, Olivet Nazarene University's Jess Learned (JR/Washington, Ill.) has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the seven-day period ending Dec. 10, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Learned, a 5-10 junior forward, authored a season-high 30 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field and 6-of-9 accuracy from three-point range in the 94-84 victory over St. Francis.  She also contributed four assists, three steals and three rebounds in the win on Saturday.

Learned provided another 19 points, eight rebounds and three steals in a 104-59 victory against Trinity International University on Wednesday to finish the week averaging 24.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals over the two games.

Olivet Nazarene remained unbeaten in league play (7-0) with the two wins last week and sits at 10-3 overall.  The Tigers are ranked No. 20 in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll.
