A’s pitcher Jesús Luzardo takes the mound with spirit of high school friend nearby
Jesús Luzardo and Joaquin Oliver both attended Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. On Tuesday, when Luzardo takes the mound for the A’s in their playoff opener, he can draw inspiration from the cardboard cutout bearing the likeness of his friend, who was killed in a mass shooting in February 2018.
