Jolly Harbour Marina Expands Catamaran Haul-Out Services in Antigua

Jolly Harbour Responds to Catamaran Demand with Major Yard Upgrades

Catamarans are no longer a niche in the Caribbean—they’re the new standard. On Antigua’s west coast, Jolly Harbour Marina & Boatyard is rising to meet this shift with a major infrastructure investment focused on wide-beam vessels.

Established in 1993, this full-service facility has expanded its haul-out and storage capabilities with the addition of a Marine Travelift TM40 self-propelled transporter, purpose-built for catamarans. The new transporter complements prior upgrades—including 80-foot twin piers, a dedicated catamaran storage yard, and an 85-ton boat hoist—positioning Jolly Harbour as a multihull-friendly service hub.

Affectionately called Rover by the yard team, the transporter features external catamaran arms that cradle vessels securely without complex rigging. The result: reduced hull stress, greater safety, and faster, more efficient hauls. Its adaptable design also allows the yard to service monohulls, maximizing flexibility.

Early results are promising. Boats with beams from 23 to 28 feet are handled with ease. Yard staff report better space utilization, allowing tighter placement—even with an irregular footprint. Up to 37 catamarans are now successfully stored on site.

Located in Antigua and Barbuda, Jolly Harbour is aligning its capabilities with the realities of today’s Caribbean boating scene—where catamarans are king, and service expectations are rising. These smart upgrades make it easier for multihull owners to haul out with confidence, and with fewer compromises.
