Following some issues with interpreting the club’s Sailing Instructions for the calculation of average points for competitors who do duties, the Sailing Committee has agreed new wording which clarifies a) how the average points will be calculated for a duty (i.e. all races that a competitor participated unless they were scored DNC or DNS) , and b) how many lots of duty points can be claimed by a competitor in each series (i.e. now limited to two duties).
The new Sailing Instructions can be found on the website on the “rules” page [ www.starcrossyc.org.uk/racing-rules ] – with the specific changes in Section 10.3 of the NOR (page . The new document will apply to all club racing from 1 October 2023.
