Great first day of racing for Team Starcross, we were held onshore until the race team were sure that we were not going to be out in an electrical storm however the weather held and off we went.
Tricky start with all boats eager to get to the cliffs, Russ & Lucy managed to reach the windward mark in the lead with Crispin & Guy close behind in 3rd.
R&L lead for the majority of the race but the last windward leg meant their lead was pulled in and then 3 boats came to the finish line together with R&L coming out in 3rd. C&G finished 7th having been in the mix with the front boats all race and Tony & Jamie came in just behind in 8th. Great to have all SYC boats in the top 10!
The race team then sent us in before the explosive storm started, what an experience.
Today is looking back to sunny Garda with temperatures hopefully back into the high 30 with the famous wind looming.
