COMMODORES UPDATE-MAY 2020

Dear BSSC members
 
As you will no doubt have heard in the news, from this Wednesday, unlimited outdoor activity will be permitted in England and we understand that this will include all forms of boating.  Any activity will still need to be alone or with members of a single household, and social distancing must be followed at all times.
 
This would suggest that from tomorrow, we are able to go on the water in our boats for recreational sailing, but these constraints mean that safety boat cover will not be in place and the clubhouse building continues to remain closed until further notice. 
 
The Sailing & General Committees are meeting over the next few weeks to discuss outline plans for getting the club back to organised sailing. This will be a phased approach to match Government and RYA guidance as they become available over the coming weeks and months and we will continue to update you as the position changes with regard to the facilities of the club.
 
As ever do remain mindful of other harbour users, safety aspects, and maintain social distancing at all times, including within the boat parks.
