Big weekend ahead

Prepare for  a big weekend at the Club.  This weekend we host the 2019 Bondi Outrigger Canoe Club Regatta, Club racing, Optimist and 420 training, Tackers and Green Fleet sailing.  The forecast is for strong wind so please be prepared.  This Sunday is also the Double Bay Street Festival with associated traffic restrictions.

Call for volunteers – WSC Racing & Cafe

After a successful volunteer competence training day, it’s time to give back to our community with your good vibes, smiles and energies.
We cannot wait to see you at Woollahra Sailing Club this weekend, supporting us with racing on and off the water and cafe.

Sail Sydney – December 12-15

Sail Sydney is the premier Dinghy sailing event in Australia this year.

The Notice of Race for Sail Sydney 2019 has been released, with Woollahra Sailing Club set once again to be a hive of activity from December 12th – 15th where scores of competitors will battle it out on the waters of Sydney Harbour.
Last year’s event saw more than 300 competitors take part, with both Junior and Olympic Class fleets featuring competitors from New Zealand, Malaysia, Macedonia, Hong Kong and Holland, as well as Australia.
We are expecting another large fleet of local, national and international sailors to take part in 2019.  The Notice of Race is available now.   Online registration for competitors, support boats and volunteers is open.  More details at: https://www.woollahrasailingclub.org.au/racing/regattas/#sail-sydney

2019 Bondi Outrigger Canoe Club Regatta 2/3 November

Woollahra Sailing Club is very pleased to again be hosting the Bondi Outrigger Canoe Club Regatta on Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd of November.
The event will bring over two hundred competitors to the Club in a range of Outrigger Canoes.  The Canoes will be racing from the beach and the competitors using the Club’s function room, cafe and other facilities.

WSC Racing – Spring Series

Strong winds forecast.  Be prepared.  Come down and pick up some valuable points.

420 Sprint Series: Saturday, Oct 26th – 2.00pm start
Moths: Saturday, Oct 26th – 3pm start
General fleet racing: Sunday, Oct 27th – 1.30pm start due to volunteer training

Term 4 programmes

The Woollahra Sailing Club Junior Term 4 sailing school programmes commenced on the weekend of 19 and 20 October.  Book now to secure your spot.

Learn to sail aka Tackers level 1 – 2 – 3

Tackers is a fun introductory, games-based sailing programme designed for kids aged 7-12 yrs. Kids don’t need to have any sailing experience. All the equipment, including the boats, is provided. Please see the learn to sail page on our website.

Green Adventure – NEW

After completing Tackers 3 this is your next step, club supplied Optimist.  Please see the learn to sail page on our website.

Out There – NEW

OutThere Sailing is the ideal way to have fun and get active on the water. This pilot programme is aimed at 13-17 year olds who would like to try sailing, windsurfing and/or paddle boarding. The aim of the programme is to have fun, spend time with friends and learn new skills.  Please see the learn to sail page on our website.

Performance Youth Pathways

Course aimed for aspiring sailors looking to gain further racing knowledge and skills aged between 13 to 17 years.  Please see the Academy page on our website.

Well done to the Woollahra Race, Development and Green Fleet sailors who braved the roads to Canberra and the wind on Lake Burley Griffin.

Club Cafe

Woollahra Sailing Club Cafe will open to members and public as follows.
Saturday 2 November:  Open from 09:00 to 18:00.
Sunday 3 November:  Open from 09:00 to 17:00.
Saturday 9 November:  Open from 10:30 to 18:00.
Sunday 10 November:  Open from 10:30 to 17:00.
