Junior Try Sailing Program 2019
The 2019 Junior Try Sailing Program ran from Saturday 04th of May through to Saturday 25th May.
The initiative was run this year by Fiona Young (Mixed Dinghy Class Captain) and Robyn Lynch (Try Sailing Lead Instructor).
The numbers of new try out sailors was very impressive with 72 joining us on day one and the number moderating (with communions etc) over the month. The weather was mostly compliant, with some lively sessions but all trainees who wanted to experience the different boats on offer getting the full experience over the four weeks.
The awarding of Try Sailing certificates by Robyn was rounded off with a visit by an ice cream van, which was very welcome on the last sunny warm try out day. Rod Stewart turned up late for the sailing on the last day so no certificate, but maybe next year!!
Our thanks to all the very many helpers that attended over the month – way too many to mention but your help was very much appreciated by everyone.
