Repairing tiny holes in old sails.

Lord knows how old the sail is, Ive noticed its got a few, maybe half a dozen pencil size holes, 1/4 to 1/2 across. Its been repaired a lot before, looks like nylon patches. in the attached picture in lower white section, you can see a few darker squares of the previous repairs. For my windsurfer I use proper sail repair tape, although gorilla tape is just as good, lasted years with full water immersion on a regular basis. The weight of the repair doesnt bother me.
