Outhauls, downhauls, vangs, cunninghams, oh my!

First off, I'm a recreational sailor, not so much by choice but more because there aren't Sunfish where/when I usually sail. Motor boats heading to/from open water, yes.

However, I'd still like to know what (and where) these sail controls are and what is it that they do, in simple terms. Thanks.
