Three pitches and a cricket pitch. Loads of space to develop.
Looks really interesting - given that Woodfield Park is evidently going nowhere, this should be worth a look.
It's been commented a number of times that the club has to pay more than other clubs for a similar calibre of player. I'd speculate that one of the causes of this is that, despite years in Superleague, they still train on a park pitch they hire from Kirklees. Frankly, having had a wander down then a few weeks back, I'd say that in lots of ways Saddleworth Rangers have better facilities at their place near Greenfield station.
If it were me, and I was in control of the club, I'd be on the blower to this guy first thing Tuesday morning asking when we could come down and have a look.
I know where it is. There's space there for a very pleasant and secluded training pitch surrounded by trees, for a main pitch and stand with ~1,000 capacity, loads of parking, future building work of gym, pool, office buildings and there could easily be access direct from Leeds Road through the old railway cutting. If the land extends all the way down - or even just to sight of the A62, then there's 30,000 cars driving past that point every day so opportunity to use it for cheap awareness raising and advertising.
There's even scope to build a bunch of houses on the cricket pitch to fund the whole thing.
If I were being really cheeky - there's room there for a 12,000 capacity stadium with good parking, access to the main road and the motorway a couple of miles away, and within walking distance of a train station... Just a thought.
