We had a good enough team out at the start of that game last night to stop that first half happening. Our effort levels looked ok for ten minutes but sadly our right edge defence had been caught cold on a couple of occasions (with Gelling setting the tone for a poor attitude that seemed to spread) and after that we turned it in.
The second half I can let them off with. We lost Gelling, Williams and Flower to injury and Lockers, Isa, Sutton and Tautai all picked up knocks.
In the long run you just hope it'll mean as little as the Wakey result last year did but I'm not convinced. Unlike that Wakey game the opposition will be in the big games at the end of the year and the mental scars must be pretty big.
