4/9 – Colgate Sevens Results/Summary

We could not have asked for a more beautiful day then what we received this past Sunday as Andy Kerr Stadium was the next stop for the Empire Rugby Conference 7s Series.  With Holy Smokes BBQ feeding everyone that came out and the electricity of the students, parents, and alumni filling the seats, it took everything the guys had to stay focused on whats happening on the pitch.  Two of those tasks were to learn defend our home and take home the cup!  And away we go: 9:40am v Ithaca College – With the first match of the day for the men, our goal was to dominate the contact area and run a direct style of attack.  The tone was set as we kicked off first, regained possession, and within seconds Eli Brick ’17 dotted down a try in the right side of the try zone (conversion no good).  Brick’s try was followed with several more in the first half by Bernie Rawlins ’17, Clay McKee ’18, and Brick (all converted by Brick).  In the second half, Ithaca made us work a little more for our points, but Rawlins and Chris Wren ’17 were able to get under the posts for […]
