Munster Rugby Plan To Return To SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh

0 3

Munster Rugby can confirm that the province plans to host one Investec Champions Cup pool fixture at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh next season, subject to GAA approval, if the province qualifies for the competition.

There is a huge battle for the eight URC Champions Cup places with 15 sides vying for eight spots.

There are four huge games remaining this season with Munster, at the time of writing, in seventh place in the URC table.

Earlier this season, Munster played their first Champions Cup fixture at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh with 36,208 people turning out to see Clayton McMillan’s side get a bonus-point win over Gloucester. This was a record crowd for a Champions Cup game in Munster.

Prior to this season, previous Munster Rugby games at Páirc Uí Chaoimh were completely sold-out with attendances of over 40,000.

The 41,400 attendance for the Munster v South Africa A game in November 2022 was a record crowd for rugby in the province.

Should a Champions Cup pool game be staged in SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Munster Rugby will advise on the number and blend of URC / EPCR games to be played in Thomond Park and Virgin Media Park next season.

Details regarding Season membership renewal dates for 2026/27 will also be communicated soon to members.
