Doddie’s Triple Crown Challenge to stop at Sardis Road on 12th March
Doddie’s Triple Crown is the 2026 edition of Rob Wainwright’s epic annual cycling challenge to raise funds for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. Off the back of the success of Doddie’s Grand Tour 2025 which raised over £1 million for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) research, in 2026 Rob and his crew are back and pleased to announce Doddie’s Triple Crown.
The challenge will take place from Tuesday 10th – Friday 13th March and the teams will cover 800 miles over four days – arriving in Dublin the evening before Scotland take on Ireland at the Aviva Stadium.
The circuitous route is set as follows:
- Tuesday 10th – Melrose to Leeds
- Wednesday 11th – Leeds to Gloucester
- Thursday 12th – Gloucester to Pembroke via St David’s Rugby Club (overnight ferry to Ireland)
- Friday 13th – Rosslare to Dublin
It is during the leg between Gloucester and Pembroke on Thursday 12th March that Pontypridd RFC will play host to the team as a stop off on this epic journey. It is planned that the team, which is made up of ex professional rugby players including Roger Baird, Rob Boyns, Ian Barr and Iwan Tukalo teaming up alongside new and seasoned cyclists aim to arrive at the rugby club at around 11.30am. The team aim to meet up with sponsors, family and friends and the family of Kyle Sieniawski who recently lost his brave battle with MND. Please come along to the rugby club to cheer on the riders on what will be the longest leg of the ride and show your support for such a fantastic cause.
