Old Wesley has learnt with great sadness of the death of David Johnson. David played senior rugby in the late 50s and early 60s and was club captain in 1960-61.
He was educated at Newtown School, Waterford, before he went on to be a successful businessman with Johnson Brothers.
Until very recently David was a great supporter of Old Wesley both on the field and at club social and fund-raising events. He was also very proud to see his grandsons Kristan and William play mini and under 20s rugby with Old Wesley.
Predeceased by his wife Elinor, we extend our sympathies to his sons Alan, Bruce and Gavin, their wives and partners, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his wider family at this sad time.
David will be sadly missed in Old Wesley.
