Vacancy | Honorary Treasurer

Munster Rugby are inviting applications for the position of Honorary Treasurer of the Munster Branch.

A voluntary position, suitable candidates are selected and nominated by a club and sent to the Chairman of the Governance and Nominations Committee. Applications will be assessed by the Governance and Nominations Committee (GNC) and a panel drawn up for interview.

The GNC will make a recommendation/s to the Board, for approval or otherwise. If / when approved by the Board, candidate(s) will be forwarded to the Branch Committee for election by vote and ratification.

The Honorary Treasurer is elected for a term of four years, subject to annual review and can then be re-elected, on an annual basis.

Reporting to the Board of Munster Rugby, the Honorary Treasurer shall manage a Financial and Commercial committee and shall have responsibility for all financial aspects of Munster Rugby.

Requirements 

• Working knowledge of the Munster Branch of the IRFU, Rules, Regulations, Bye Laws and Governance.
• Given the complexity and breath of the role, you will be a qualified accountant or have over 10 years’ experience in industry or in an accountancy practice.
• Competency in IT, Report Writing and Organizational Skills.
• Ability for work with Munster Branch employees as well as volunteers across the organisation.
• Ability to see “the bigger picture” to ensure inclusiveness of all stakeholders within Munster Rugby.
• General Management Skills.
• Logical thinker and good listener.
• Arbitration and communication skills.
• Flexibility to address/attend to situations/meetings giving that occasionally they might occur during office hours.

• Ability to manage, influence and communicate with stakeholders across the organization.
• Ability to apply adequate financial and administration skills.
• Ability to display discretion, independence, and confidentiality in all dealings.

• Ability to apply forward thinking and planning.
