A Sang O’ Linlithgow’s P6 Lads!

Sunday 25 January 2026

Report by Gordon White

After a couple of cancelled games due to the winter weather, the P6s finally got going for 2026 with an away fixture at Hamilton on Sunday. With it being Burns Night, the match report this week gives a nod to our National Bard (with a little help from AI):

Upon the mossy, boggy field, a sight sae grand to see,
Linlithgow’s lads, in red array, did battle bravely.
Wi’ tackles hard an’ rucking fierce, they met the Hamilton might,
An’ scored some braw an’ glorious tries, afore the fa’ o’ night.

The whistle blew, the game was done, a weary, happy crew,
Their faces caked wi’ clabber deep, their energy spent an’ through.
Aye, tired they were, ilk bonnie lads, but spirits soaring high,
For honour on the muddy pitch, ‘neath the dank sky.
