Not really champagne rugby from either side, but the Woldsmen always had the upper hand, being 21 up at half-time and not really looking under any pressure.

In the second half, back-to-back Driffield yellow cards gave a 20 minute spell for Middlesbrough with a man advantage and they made it count twice out wide.

But, when back to full-strength, Driffield continued to dictate the game, and will probably be disappointed they didn’t score more points.

Divide in the league has started to appear, and with Penrith’s continued slide down the table, Sandal and Cleckheaton will start to see a survival plan!

• 14:16 : Middlesbrough penalty 30 out, dead centre, is missed.
• 14:33 : Middlesbrough penalty five out. This time the scrum option is taken, but the attack is snuffed out.
• 14:39 : In the Middlesbrough 22, Driffield mount multiple phases, eventually finding Webster who broke tackles to go 15 to score under the sticks.  Napier converts.  D21 – 0 M

14:43 : Half time

• 14:54 : Driffield kick off
• 15:03 : Falkingham shown yellow
• 15:06 : From the Driffield ten, the Middlesbrough full-back breaks down the left and just gets in at the left corner.  Conversion missed. D21 – 5 M
• 15:14 : Driffield lose their own scrum on their own five, the ball is sent left, and the Middlesbrough wing goes in at the corner.  D21 – 10 M
• 15:17 : Borman shown yellow
• 15:24 : In spite of solid defence, Hughes gets the ball 30 out and breaks tackles to score the bonus point try.  Napier converts D28 – 10 M
• 15:29 : Driffield rumble it over from short range, and Furbank touches down.  Stanyon converts.  D35 – 10 M
