Dafydd James Book Launch at Pontypridd RFC
On Friday evening the 19th December Pontypridd RFC is proud to announce that it will be hosting a night with Dafydd James and his recently launched autobiography “Offloading – Tackling My Truth.” The autobiography is a powerful and deeply personal memoir, in which Dafydd poignantly and courageously reveals the human cost of achieving success in an elite sport that demanded everything.
Capped 48 times for Wales, and in all three Lions Tests on the 2001 tour of Australia, Dafydd enjoyed a highly distinguished 15-year playing career with three Welsh regions – Celtic Warriors, Scarlets and Cardiff Blues – and five first-class clubs – Bridgend, Pontypridd, Llanelli, Harlequins and Sale – during which he scored 129 tries and played in two Rugby World Cups. During his time at Pontypridd Dafydd played 54 times for the club and scored an impressive 23 tries.
The event is to be held in the grandstand area of the club and doors open at 18.30 with a prompt start at 19.00. The Master of Ceremonies for the evening is none other than the legendary Phil Steele. Although the event is “free” this is a ticketed event and booking of tickets can be done in one of two ways. You can contact club director Paul Marshall on 07958 604098 or email either media@ponty.net or post@st-davids-press.wales
This prestigious event offers a great opportunity to get up and close with a Wales and Pontypridd rugby playing legend, and this is also a unique opportunity to purchase his recently published book, which will be personally signed by Dafydd on the evening – this will make for a perfect Christmas present.
