Brecon v Pontypridd – Matchday Preview

Next up is Pontypridd RFC’s first Premiership match of the new season away at Brecon RFC. It takes place at Parc de Pugh on Saturday 6th September and kicks off at 2:30pm.

It’s five months since Ponty’s last match at Brecon, and on Saturday 29th March it was the home side who earned a 36-29 victory. Prior to that, on Saturday 16th November 2024 the two clubs met for the first time ever, at Sardis Road – tries from Mitch Barnard, Dale Stuckey and a brace from Garyn Daniel contributed to a Pontypridd victory by 43 points to 11. Former Valley Commandos hooker/backrower and Wales international Kristian Dacey is Brecon’s new head coach and he will no doubt be looking to turn Parc de Pugh into a fortress, so make sure you pack out Parc de Pugh this Saturday #PontyFans!

Ponty finished off their pre-season with a 53-12 win over St Albans on Saturday and Brecon won 21-7 away at Abertillery B.G., the week before the men from mid-Wales lost 42-5 away at Beddau.
