Pontypridd v Newport – Match Preview
On Saturday 9th August Pontypridd RFC welcome Newport RFC to Sardis Road for a pre-season friendly. The match against the Black and Ambers kicks off at 2:30pm.
Saturday’s game will see last season’s Welsh Cup winners play the reigning Super Rygbi Cymru champions from Newport Stadium. Ponty played a large number of personnel from the current squad in last Saturday’s testimonial match for Joel Raikes and Dale Stuckey, and if that game was more ‘relaxed’ in its nature, tomorrow’s contest will be anything but.
Ponty and Newport now compete in different domestic competitions and the ‘Port still remain one of the best supported sides in the country – as a club we are looking forward to welcoming the Newport RFC players, officials and supporters to Sardis Road for the first time since Thursday 29th February 2024.
A DOUBLEHEADER WITH PONTY YOUTH…
Following the conclusion of Ponty and Newport’s match, Pontypridd Youth will be playing Abercynon Youth straight after the seniors with a 4:45pm kick-off – why not stay and show your support for ‘The Youth’…
