Pontypridd v Newport – Matchday Preview

Next up Pontypridd’s pre-season schedule continues when Newport RFC visit Sardis Road on Saturday 9th August, the match kicks off at 2:30pm.

Newport’s last visit to Sardis came on Thursday 29th February 2024, and it was the Black and Ambers who triumphed in front of the S4C cameras that evening. Many members of the Ponty squad got valuable minutes in the legs on Saturday just gone in the Raikes & Stuckey Testimonial match, and will be aware that Newport will be extremely tough opposition this weekend – the Black and Ambers are the reigning SRC Champions having defeated Ebbw Vale in last season’s grand final.

Ponty and the ‘Port have of course faced each other numerous times over many decades, and this Saturday will again be an opportunity for us to welcome Newport’s players, officials and supporters to Sardis Road once again.

SUPPORTER INFORMATION:

Tickets – This Saturday’s admission prices will be £10 each for adults, £5 for concessions and under 16’s free if accompanied by a paying adult. Tickets can be purchased on the day and supporters will be able to pay via cash or card.

Ground opening – The stadium and Sardis Road clubhouse will be open from midday onwards, so come and enjoy some refreshments prior to kick-off.
