Ethan Evans signs for Ponty

Pontypridd RFC are very pleased to announce the permanent signing of Ethan Evans from Rhwbina RFC/Cardiff Rugby Academy for the 2025/26 season. The 18-year-old who can play blindside flanker and no.8 links up with the Club after making five appearances for the Valley Commandos at the back end of last season.

As has been mentioned Ethan is a Rhwbina product and whilst with The Squirrels he earned age grade representative honours for Cardiff Schools U11s and U15s, Cardiff Blues U16s, Cardiff Rugby U18s whilst playing for the Cardiff Rugby Academy.

Ethan now links up with the senior Pontypridd squad and will be adding to his five prior appearances in black and white throughout the new campaign.

On linking up with Ponty Ethan said: “I’m honoured to play for this amazing club with a great history and with passionate supporters. I’m really excited for my next chapter and looking forward to the new season, and going out there with the boys and giving everything I’ve got for the team, coaches and the supporters.”

Pontypridd Head Coach Kristian Parker said: “Ethan is no stranger to the Ponty fans having finished the season with us. Ethan is an all action back rower who can move up to the second row. His abrasive style will match what we are trying to create and with his best years ahead of him we are looking forward to seeing him develop.”
