BREAKING NEWS – Pontypridd to contest the Mid District Premiership Cup Final
We have some big fixture news to break this evening – Pontypridd RFC will be contesting the inaugural Mid District Premiership Cup Final this Saturday 17th May at Sardis Road.
Ponty travelled to Bargoed RFC on Saturday for a Premiership clash and the match, which was the last in the league for both teams this season was also an unofficial Mid District Cup semi-final. Bargoed won to take their place in this Saturday’s showpiece final but there has been a turn of events today.
Bargoed have informed the Mid District Rugby Union that they are unable to take their place in this Saturday’s final due to player unavailability in certain key positions. As a result Pontypridd, who were the next highest ranked side finishing third in the Mid District standings, will now replace the Rhymney Valley club in the final.
