COACHING STRUCTURE ANNOUNCMENT
Luctonians are delighted to announce our new coaching line up for the 2025/26 season for the 1st and 2nd XVs.
As part of a wider business restructure Alex Smith will be moving from dual role of looking after rugby and business operations to concentrate solely on running the business, commercial and community elements at Lucs as Director of Operations, whilst the club have created the new role of Director of Senior Rugby and welcome back Rob Lewis, the former London Welsh, Dragons and Wales 7s player who also played here for a couple of seasons either side of Covid, as an outstanding candidate to keep driving rugby at the club forwards.
With Rob focusing on all senior men’s rugby at Lucs, your new 1st XV Head Coach is George Thomas, who will step up from his Forwards Coach position, where he has done a marvellous job creating a formidable pack, to replace Ryan Watkins. George will be ably supported by Owen Jones, who continues in role as 1st XV Defence Coach and Brett Prior who will step up from a highly successful period coaching the 2nds to be the new 1st XV Backs Coach.
At 2nd XV level Joff Bemand continues in role leading the forwards after a couple of excellent seasons, and he will be ably assisted this season by two coaches promoted from within our existing setup in Charlie Meredith and Kieram Hallam, who step up from the 3rd XV and Colts respectively.
