Jack Gallagher – deceased

0 3

Old Wesley has learnt with great sadness of the death of Jack Gallagher after an illness.

Jack was born in Co. Donegal and attended Sligo Grammar School.  On leaving school he moved to Dublin working first with Cadburys before securing a job in insurance where he worked until retirement.

He joined Old Wesley in the 1950s and lined out in the centre on the senior team for a number of years. He continued to play junior rugby into the 1970s.  After retiring from playing he became a senior selector and became involved in many other club activities.  He was elected Club President in 1992-93.  He was always a great club supporter and until recently was a regular face at AIL matches.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Jack’s children Jill, Nigel, Andrew and Lynn, and the rest of his family and friends.

Jack will be sadly missed by his many friends in Old Wesley.
