Wee Reds night out at the Hive

0 4

Friday 4th April saw our fabulous Wee Reds Minis do the Club takeover at the Edinburgh Rugby v Emirate Lions game and many of us are still buzzing from the experience!  Despite it being the start of the school holidays , almost every player from the 4 squads were in attendance.

The evening started with an entertaining and informative Q&A with Edinburgh Rugby players Connor Boyle and Jamie Hodgson. Our boys had prepared some interesting questions for the players and we could easily have spent another hour asking them about  their pre-match routines and boot recommendations.

Next the mascots headed off via the changing rooms whilst the guards of honour got ready with their Edinburgh flags.

After kicking the game off in style, the Wee Reds Minis returned to the Riverside Stand to watch the first half with the rest of the players  and spectators. Most of the action was at the other end of the pitch as Edinburgh scored but the Wee Reds were thinking ahead to their half time on pitch performances!

As the half-time whistle blew and the Edinburgh & Lions players exited the pitch, some very excited Reds came on.  P4, P5 & P6 played each other in front of the Riverside Stand whilst p7s were in front of the Murrayfield Stand.

The games were so exciting and the boys were all clearly inspired by their surroundings and definitely brought their A game and all too soon the 10 minutes were up. They paused for a quick photo op with the Edinburgh players (see above) before exiting the pitch again. Their duties well and truly done having showcased their skills to all at the Hive

Edinburgh Rugby won comfortably and go through to the quarter-finals this weekend against Vodacom Bulls, but the real winners were undoubtedly the Linlithgow Wee Reds Minis.
