There is no reason why they couldn't field a full strength side. Instead, to force the RFL hand, they threw the first game, are prepared to throw the second game, giving Saints a huge points difference advantage, and maybe Leeds next. Could be crucial at the season end and could, for example, be the difference between a team getting a top six slot and not doing so.
