The release of caged animals!

0 4

Sunday 02 February 2025

After 2 months of hard indoor training, the P5 squad were released out into the ‘fresh’ air for a round robin tournament against Stirling County, Edinburgh Academy and our local neighbours Livingston.

Sporting their new training kit, the full squad looked very professional warming up together and were split into two teams under the guidance of Paul, Graham, Jay and Ian.

Both the ‘canal side’ team and the ‘school side’ team started with tough exciting games against Accies and County, with the 4 matches too close to call. Throughout the games, the whole squad used the various skills that they have been working so hard on during the winter, including quickly moving the ball away from the tackle area. Highlights also included lots of brilliant ‘round the ankles’ tackles, some aggressive defence to drive the bigger Accies’ boys into touch and loads of excellent breakaway tries.

Our final games were both against the Livingston team, who were starting to tire with their smaller squad having to double up on games. This allowed the Linlithgow teams more space to use their handling skills to score a number of fantastic team tries. Some outrageous try celebrations were also enjoyed!

A quick team photo was taken before everyone dashed to the warm cars!

Bring on the Spring!

Well done to all the boys….
