Did this come out of the Blue? Too far away from the Western Suburbs to be palatable to most I would suggest? Do they even know where Malaga is down at Cott?

RugbyWA welcomes the news that a re-elected WA Labor Government will invest a further $20 million in developing the plans for a new sporting precinct in Malaga. Situated near Whiteman Park between the new Ballajura train station and the Perth Film Studios currently being constructed on Marshall Road, the new precinct will become a critical sporting precinct for Western Australia.
RugbyWA has been working closely with the State Government and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries to ensure that a new Home of Rugby for Western Australia forms a central and critical part of this precinct and is excited by the opportunities that this will bring to the sport as we work through the Golden Decade. With The British and Irish Lions tour, the 2027 Mens World Cup, 2029 Womens World Cup, HSBC SVNS tournament, and Super Rugby Pacific competition showcasing our sport in the coming years, Rugby WA is committed to growing community rugby to 50,000 participants. A new Home of Rugby for Western Australia is a critical part of this and we look forward to continuing to work with Government to achieve this.
