On a day when only two of the six games in the league went ahead, Driffield travelled across to Selby on a bitterly cold day hoping for their first away win of the season.
- 14:15 : Kick-off
- 14:18 : Selby yellow card for a tip-tackle on Falkingham. From the penalty, Driffield kick to the corner.
- 14:20 : The ball was won and Barr went over after good phase play in the Selby 22. Napier converted. S 0 – 7 D
- 14:24 : Selby’s outside centre breaks through from the kick-off and scores out wide, followed by an excellent conversion, to level the scores. S 7 – 7 D
- 14:29 : Selby score again after phases and offloading play, in the same position as the last time, with another great conversion. S 14 – 7 D
- 14:37 : A Selby player is shown yellow – the reason was not clear from the stand.
- 14:40 : Driffield levelled the score when Furbank went in from close range after three penalties awarded to Driffield. Napier converted. S 14 – 14 D
- 14:52 : Selby reclaimed the lead with a well-taken penalty shot from Driffield holding on. S 17 – 14 D
- 14:55 : Selby stretched their lead with a converted try under the sticks following three penalties conceded by Driffield. S 24 – 14 D
- 14:56 : HALF TIME
- 15:08 : Following the restart, Selby kept the pressure on, scoring out wide again for the bonus point try, this time unconverted. S 29 – 14 D
- 15:15 : At this point, Driffield were just not in the game, and another away loss seemed very likely to the travelling supporters.
- 15:18 : Things started to change when the Selby number eight was shown the red card for a head shot on Will Robson.
- 15:30 : With a man advantage, Driffield had been unable to make the most of it until Selby were shown another yellow card.
- 15:32 : Now with a two-man advantage, Driffield finally capitalised, when Scurry went in under the posts, and Stanyon converted. S 29 – 21 D
- 15:36 : Mewburn shown yellow for collapsing a maul
- 15:43 : Selby converted a penalty after Driffield were penalised for holding on. S 32 – 21 D
- 15:45 : With less than five minutes to play, Selby had it in the bag. But the never-say-die attitude of the Driffield squad kicked in. Brankley scored a bonus-point try from the kick-off, converted by Stanyon to put them in the losing bonus point zone. S 32 – 28 D
- 15:49 : In time added on, Driffield pinched the narrowest of victories from the jaws of defeat, when Rix went in for the try, unconverted. The final whistle went straight after. S 32 – 33 D
- 15:49 : FULL TIME
2nd XV travelled to Hull Ionians and lost 32-24.
3rd XV travelled to Malton & Norton and lost 22-7.
Ladies 1st XV v. Kendal Wasps postponed due to adverse conditions for travel.
