It’s good, the next episode will be better. It confirmed to me that Smith was out of his depth, he couldn’t see the need for changing his approach when he’d been worked out by the other coaches. Some of the criticisms of him about passive defence were not correct, he had a different plan for sure, around defending kicks etc. but the fact that we couldn’t see what he was trying to achieve must suggest the players were at least a bit confused by it too.

Looking forward to seeing BA arrive, we suspected he stripped back everything to basics and this will show if we were right. RL is a simple game, over complicated by those who don’t see the need to work harder than the opposition to win.
