Old Wesley RFC Girls update…

0 3

As we come up to the quarter season mark, we thought we would get everyone up-to-date with the progress that our Girls have made since the start of the season…

Under 16’s are enjoying their time training and playing with their combined team and are currently working their way through their Leinster Girls League fixtures.  Training twice a week is keeping them active and with a match every weekend, they are certainly gaining experience on the pitch.

Our Under 14’s are also continuing with training twice a week and playing matches in the Leinster Girls League with their combined team and are gaining in confidence with every week.

Our Under 12’s have now had three outings so far this season, half time minis AIL match v Blackrock, match against Blessington as well as a Blitz against Seapoint, Old Belvo and Terenure.  With another match this Saturday against Old Belvo at half time of the AIL match, they have certainly been kept busy.

Our Under 10’s have had two outings so far this season with the half time minis match against Blackrock and the Blitz against Seapoint, Old Belvo and Terenure.  Again they take to the field on Saturday for another half time minis game in front of 200 spectators.

Our lone Under 8 continues to train in her mixed group on a Sunday morning and is working hard to develop her allround skill level.

As the season progresses the girls will only get better, with training continuing on Mondays for the Under 14’s, Tuesdays for the Under 16’s, Under 10’s and Under 12’s, Wednesday for the Under 14’s, Thursday for the Under 10’s and 12’s, Saturday matches for the Under 14’s and Under 16’s and Sunday for the Under 8’s, 10’s and 12’s.  For more information on venues and times please contact Chris on girlsrugby@oldwesley.ie

We are also on the look out for any coaches that want to contribute to the development plan of the girls.  If anyone is interested contact Chris at the above email address.
