Our sports hall plans are building up!
Big developments are happening here at Tigers!
Following extensive consultation with our members and users, we are delighted to announce the next phase of improvements at Newlands Park.
Firstly, following our launching of a wheelchair rugby team in the summer of 2023, we had no idea of how challenging it would be to get suitable sports hall space for training and playing. We have taken the bold decision to build our own which will be suitable for a variety of sports and activities, including wheelchair rugby, netball, indoor archery, five-a side-football, badminton and indoor winter training, plus other potential events. We have long planned a Sponsors Lounge on the current balcony and this addition will tie in with an extension to the martial arts space, which is currently operating at capacity. Finally, to go alongside these improvements, we will be adding a 500-seat stand to the AGP facilities to provide some comfort for our members, friends, family and visitors when watching our teams perform. A planning application is being submitted this month and once planning is achieved, we will be instructing consultants to produce construction drawings for tendering. Fundraising for the project will continue during this phase.
