Huddersfield Giants • Volunteers needed.....

Hi all, i am the events manager for the HGSA and myself and my team are deep into the organisation and arranging of our flagship event - the Twenty20 Cricket family fun day at Honley Cricket club on Sunday the 25th August.

I'm pretty sure most of you will have attended a previous version of this popular event and will therefore know how successful and busy this event is, this only happens due to our fantastic team of volunteers who work tirelessly, not only throughout the day but in the weeks and months leading up to this event, and the same applies to those same volunteers who also organise all the Giants games, fans forum and supporters meetings at Laund Hill, the fanzone and legends bar on home matchdays at the stadium and other special events that are held throughout each year, they are the heart and soul of the HGSA and the main reason we still function as successfully as we do, unfortunately we don't have enough of these wonderful people and we need more volunteers to ensure we can continue to provide excellent value to our members and of course to raise our donations to the club.

Therefore, i am taking this opportunity to ask if you would be able to spare some time to help out at the cricket day in one of our various roles for as little as 1 hour?
Any volunteers will be entitled to free admission for the event and free water whilst on duty and will also be free to enjoy the rest of the day once their session has ended.

We are looking for volunteers for the following roles:-

Gate attendants - To take cash or card payments at the entrance gates and issue admittance wristbands to all attendees, there are 2 gates which require a minimum of 2 people at all times, teams of 4 will rotate on an hourly basis between 11.30am and 3.30pm, minimum of 1 hour.

Car park attendants - To assist drivers entering the parking area and showing them where to park or to direct cars to the car park from the lane at the bottom of the cricket club complex, also to allow stallholders to access the site, minimum of 2 people needed between 11am and 3.30pm.

Set up assistants - This is a morning role to assist our team and the Yorkshire Event power team to set up the main HGSA marquee/tables and chairs and general furniture arranging of the site in readiness for the event, possibly from 8.30am.

Litter pickers/general assistants - To keep the site clean and tidy during the day by collecting litter from the grounds and emptying bins, to assist in any other jobs needed by any of the team which could including manning a stall in the HGSA marquee, helping to sell golden gamble/raffle tickets, minimum of 1 hour between 12pm and 5pm.

Clean up/close down assistants - To assist our team and the Yorkshire event power team in taking down the marquee, loading vans, clearing any leftover rubbish, assisting stallholders with any help they may require, helping the cricket club staff with any jobs needing doing, this would be from 5pm till everything is done.

Anyone willing to volunteer can take as many or as little roles as they would like and are welcome to stay or leave any time they like once their volunteering commitments are over.
If you feel you could help in any of our roles please contact myself, leave us a message on here or drop us a message on Facebook, any help would be hugely appreciated.

Many Thanks

Daz Eastwood
