I agree that Shorrocks did well but not that Smithies didn’t. In those early stages, when the game was full throttle, I thought Smithies took it to them on both sides of the ball. Asiata is an experienced NRL player and him snd Smithies had a really good early battle. It’s all about balance for me. It felt like we found a nice balance on Thursday, with the likes of Byrne, Powell and Smithies starting and Havard, O’Neill and Shorrocks coming on as replacements. They opened us up a bit, once the early scraps had died down a little.
