Wakefield Trinity • Re: Win a Trinity Scarf & Mug Prediction Competition

RWBA Wakefield Group wrote:

Hi everyone, I have seen some comments on here regarding fans not having access to Facebook and thus unable to see the things we do on the Red White & Blue Army page, so I thought I would share some with you today. We are running a free prediction competition today with a chance to win a Wakefield Trinity Scarf & Mug. If you enter and only access RLFANS please put your RLFANS username after your full name so that I can track you down on here if you do win.

We are looking at running a prediction comp through the season, £10 entry fee and chance to win a full range of Wakefield Trinity related prizes. I will be adding an e-mail option when registering so that supporters away from the group can take part as well. But more of that later... for now, click the link and complete the simple form and enter your predictions for todays game.

Great to see another set of fans doing positive stuff.

Whether it like me working alone in my spare time or a group like RW&B or the Trinity Heritage boys it shows it can be done.

The club are very open minded and if they think what you’re offering has legs they seem more than willing to run with it.

Just don’t be put off if you get a no first time. There are loads of reasons why what you think is a good idea isn’t. But you won’t be dismissed that’s for sure, you will be offered alternatives if there are any.

What I’d like to see next is someone willing to really unite the local clubs with Trinity. I know things a lot better than in the past but so much more could be done.

This is way beyond my knowledge range but what I’d love to see is a short summer comp post the amateur season that involves local teams, say Stanley unite with their local school Outwood and create a team to play in a six week competition against other school/club teams. maybe a hybrid nines, one designed to spot potential new player for both the amateur club and if we are really lucky Trinity. I really think schools have been neglected at an older more competitive age.

I know schools don’t do much these days out of hours but if the amateur clubs supported by Trinity took some of the strain it might get them interested again. Especially if we could offer incentives to the winners.

Get kids involved who normally wouldn’t and not just from RL schools either. Get QUEGS and Silcoats involved as well. Talent can come from any class or culture given a chance.

We need to catch them young and even if they never play for Trin they may end up supporting us.

I can tell you now this is the thing that the Aussies do all the time and the biggest reason for their massive player pool.

I’d offer my support and time to anyone with the nous to make this happen and I reckon you’d find some sponsorship to boot. Big job but people used to do this kind of stuff, we used to call them leaders.
