Pointing out that we need to play better to get more fans in isn't a suggestion of how to improve. We all know that. The suggestion would be answering the question how we do that.
Telling fans where we are with season ticket sales isn't talking down the club, it is communicating to the fan base/customer. Isn't that on your list of things a good business has to do?
They haven't blamed the fans as well you know.
