Marin Briefs: Former Highlander Fulton joins Dallas in Major League Rugby
Marin Highlanders alum Kyle Fulton was selected by the Dallas Jackals in the 2022 Major League Rugby draft on Thursday. Fulton, also a former football standout at Redwood High, was taken with the first pick of the second round — 14th overall — after playing collegiately at the University of Arizona.
Fulton’s selection brings the number of current Highlanders in Major League Rugby to three. Tom Brusati is also a member of the Jackals and Holden Youngurt is a member of the New England Free Jacks.
Girls volleyball
Tenley Brovelli had 18 assists and four aces as San Rafael improved to 2-0 following a 25-11, 25-12, 25-15 victory against Piner on Friday. Mary Healy had seven kills and Jade Von Doepp added five. Elsa Kehoe had three digs, two assists and a kill.
• Olivia Brewster had 13 kills and three blocks to help lead Terra Linda to a 27-25, 25-13, 25-17 win against Cardinal Newman Thursday night. Nadia Hutchinson added 24 digs and three aces as the Trojans (1-1) evened up their early-season record. TL is set to compete at the St. Helena tournament on Saturday.
