The problem is that some people can’t see beyond the player in front of them.

Whatever is wrong with our defence it starts further in field. People there are not doing their jobs and thus the wide men are hung out to dry.

The better more experienced the wide men the less obvious it is. However Croft and especially Minns are not vey good and they can’t cope.

Put bluntly the ball gets played to quickly by the opposition and moves to fast to the flanks without adequate challenge. Sometimes we get away with it and sometimes it’s catastrophic as at Salford.

To me this is down to the coaching staff. They either can’t spot the culprits or won’t act or to be fair on them simply don’t have the alternatives.

Anyone thinking Gaskell is the answer then I suggest you wait until Wigan have finished with him.
