You left that post late mate, I had already left for the match. Too late for today but if you come again on a Saturday you would be better just sticking it on one of the multi storey car parks. We all have our little places to park for free, but if you don't know the town you could easily get lost.
Golden square is nowhere near as expensive as £5, it is only £2.20 for 4 hours. But you will hit the traffic going home.
Better to come off the M62 at Junction 10 and head south on the M6 for a couple of clicks, come off at Junction 21 and follow the A57 into the town centre, follow signs for Time Square multi storey, entrance off Bank Street. 10 minutes walk to the stadium. Going home retrace your journey, following signs for A57 Irlam. You'll be half way home by the time you would be getting on the 62 the other way.
If you come for a Thurs/Fri night game, stick it under Golden Square, Legh St . Its free.
Sunday, stick it on Golden Square, it's free. Entrance off Midland Way.
