The challenge on his focus between commercial activity and sporting excellence is a fair one. We see plenty of the former and none of the latter.
It amazes me to think otherwise sensible people on here believe him to be some sort of commercial genius and leadership guru. In fact he was a journeyman fullback who won zero accolades in the game, given a middle ranking role in an organisation then hastily thrust into the position of CEO.
Amazing to think the board searched high and low across the whole spectrum of sporting leadership for a CEO to create the vision and drive the club to the next level when lo and behold he was their player welfare officer all along, akin to Hong Kong Phooey.
Is Hong Kong Phooy available, I mean he should be he is only a cartoon, he could help along side some of out other cartoon characters. In other news I heard our next sponsor will be Looney Tunes.
