‘Watershed moment’ – TikTok sponsorship of Women’s Six Nations gives competition a massive boost
SOCIAL MEDIA giants TikTok are the title sponsor for the Women’s Six Nations after signing a ground-breaking agreement earlier this year.
The video-sharing app’s backing will give the competition a massive boost.
Each of the Six Nations will have dedicated TikTok Rugby Creators, providing video content for fans.
The hashtag to search for on the platform will be #TikTokW6N.
It is a shot in the arm for the women’s game with a World Cup looming in New Zealand later this year and games televised on free-to-air TV.
Six Nations CEO Ben Morel said: “This is a watershed moment for the Women’s Championship. Fans around the world have never had so many ways to follow the excitement and drama of the TikTok Women’s Six Nations.”

England’s record cap holder Rocky Clarke added: “Just look at the likes of (England player) Bryony Cleall, who is smashing TikTok at the moment because she’s become relatable.
“Social media platforms like TikTok let people see past the name on a teamsheet, they start to build a narrative around players, and build them into household names.
“I have dipped my toe into TikTok and am enjoying it, as I know other old girls are too.”
Rugby fans on TikTok will be able to access content, with in-app activations including custom Effects and Hashtag Challenges.
